NDIS
Empowering Australians with direct access to disability support
The NDIS is Australia’s first national scheme designed to give people with disabilities more choice and control over the support they receive. Instead of block funding to agencies, the NDIS provides direct funding to individuals, ensuring services are tailored to personal needs.
Today, over 4.3 million Australians live with a disability. Once fully rolled out, the NDIS will support around 460,000 Australians under the age of 65 who have permanent and significant disabilities.
For many participants, this represents the first time they can access the right support to live more independently, achieve their goals, and participate fully in their communities.
